12-year old Mitsuki Kouyama has a dream of becoming a great singer, a promise that she made to a boy named Eiichi Sakurai, when they were little and still lived in the orphanage together. However, Mitsuki developed a tumor in her throat, which prevents her from singing loudly or breathing hard. Then, a duo of Shinigami's (Gods of Death) Takuto Kira and Meroko Yui, were sent from the heavens to retrieve Mitsuki's soul. They told her that she only had one year left to live and realizing this, Mitsuki asked them for help, in order for her to become a great singer!
Mitsuki Kouyama: A 12-year old girl who dreams of becoming a great singer. She has developed a tumor in her throat, however, which unables her to accomplish this dream of hers. Mitsuki is very ambitious and is willing to find any way for her to become a singer, despite her grandma's warnings, who hates singing with passion. Mitsuki believes that not being able to sing is worse than having to face death.
Full Moon: Mitsuki's alter-ego. Unlike Mitsuki at age 12, Full Moon is a 16-year old version of Mitsuki and in a healthy condition too. This allows for Mitsuki to sing as loud as she wants without having to feel any pain from her throat. Though.. she's not the type who deals with... "flirty booys".
Takuto Kira: One of the shinigami's who helps Mitsuki. Takuto can transform Mitsuki into a 16-year old girl with a healthy body. He pairs up with another shinigami named Meroko. Takuto can be pretty snotty at times but that's what makes him a fun character! Takuto has kawaii cat ears and tail.
Meroko Yui: The second of the shinigami's who helps Mitsuki. Meroko has a major crush on Takuto but no matter how many times she admits her love, she doesn't seem to get any love from Takuto in return. She is annoying at times but she gradually matures into a great friend. She has bunny ears (like how Takuto has cat ears)!
Itzumi Lio: A pro shinigami who has collected many souls. He used to be Meroko's partner and even with their separate ways, he still has feelings of love for her.
Jonathan: 0-o; Jonathan is Itzumi's parter. Let's just say that he's... a ghost looking character who has a very weird personality. There's not much to say about him.
Keiichi Wakouji: Mitsuki's family doctor who's last name means "prince". He cares for Mitsuki's health and doesn't want her to push herself to hard or take any major risks that might do damage to herself.
Oshige-san: Mitsuki's agent who helps her set up single debutes and records. Oshige-san is.. drunk, underneath that business look of hers. She can get pretty crazy so don't give her wine or beer!
Madoka Wakamatsu: Full Moon's rival. She has an anger management when seeing her and absolutely despises Full Moon. Madoka plans many tricks on her in a sneaky way in order to beat her any audition or competition. Despite her cruel tricks, she has a very bad past and tries to avoid it. Eversince that day in her past, she's been transformed into a completely different person, someone, who absoultely refuses to lose in any way.

This anime had its own original plot, different from all the others I've seen. Usually, I see anime that's based on "saving the world". But in Full Moon, it's about fufilling one's dreams. This anime definetly deserves a score to the top!
