Earth is approached under a new threat from within the ashes of the planet which was nearly annihilated. Vampires, a fantasy which was more than just a nightmare to all humanity... enter reality and crave the blood of human flesh. In order to counter this threat, the Vaticans were formed, containing warriors around the world in order to sustain peace.
For now, the story focuses on an wandering priest of the Vatican team named Abel Nightroad. Despite his human exterior looks, Abel's not exactly 100% human. Deep inside, he is a Crusnik, a vampire who drinks the blood of other vampires, giving him a lot of power to kill them. His Crusnik form is a vampire who helps everyone instead of helping the evil vampires.
(I will just list the main characters since this series has quite a lot of them.)
Abel Nightroad: A wandering priest of the Vatican team who isn't exactly human. He has a vampire side of him called Crusnik, which allows him to drink the blood of other vampires, giving him a lot of power. His Crusnik side is used to help the people instead of helping the evil vampires. Other than that, Abel, on the exterior, is a kind gentelmen who always seems to be hungry and poor. He tries to help everyone as much as he can, letting them know that he is a friend on their side.
Tres Iqus: He is an android that's also part of the Vatican team. His main weapon is a gun which can explain his code name, Gunslinger. Tres is programmed to do whatever Lady Catherina tells him to do and because he's an android, he has no emotions or heart. He's not very social in complete sentences unless if he's asking or explaining something. Tres usually replies with "positive" or "negative".
Catherina Sforza: (Lady Catherina) She is the sister of the Pope and the leader of the Vatican team. Catherina is a kind person but strict. She can also be harsh but that's due to the stress she's endured. Catherina has known Abel out of all the other Vatican members the longest because of an incident where Abel has saved her life. Despite the fact that she was scared of him at first, Abel managed to have her trust and belief by letting her know that he's willing to protect all humans.
Esther Blanchette: (Sister Esther) Eversince she was born, Esther has remained in the church. Though, it wasn't for long until it was burnt down. Esther was arrested for committing a crime, murder, and Abel insists on going with her. Later on, she joins the Vatican but... is still weak.. Ex: Can't hold a gun properly yet. Esther and Abel become good friends and allies later on.
Sister Kate: (Iron Maiden) Sister Kate is a humanoid and is another one of the weird characters in the team. Her body is transparent, she can float, and appear/dissapear out of no where. She is the captain of a humungous ship called the Iron Maiden.
Alessandro: The Pope, and brother of Catherina. He's a very funny character but timid as well. If you yell at him, he'll squeak. If you put something in front of his face, he'll squeak. He blames himself a lot and looks up to his older brother. Alessandro is always scared & shaking but other than that, has a depressed look. Though, as a Pope, he has a duty to give blessings, make decisions.. etc.
Father Hugue: aka Sword Dancer. Father Hugue is a silent wander priest who fights with an unusual stick which has a sword hidden within. He says it's what he uses to protect people and himself. Hugue is a mysterious person who's been in many fights due to the large amount of scars on his body.

I just got into Trinity Blood, knowing that my friend Polaris LOVES the series like crazy and tells me about it all the time. When I realized that it was on Adult Swim and YouTube, I was very excited and watched the first episode. It was VERY good and turned out better than I thought! This is my first vampire anime (besides reading Vampire Princess Miyu) and I love everything in it! The artwork, the characters, the suspense! I shall give it a perfect score!!!
